This pandemic has shifted most of the markets online. We have all shifted to online shopping be it groceries, clothes, electronics, etc. The idea of ‘going shopping’ sounds out of the ordinary. There has been digitization over the course of the year too. The government is using the pandemic as a opportunity to speak up people on the online banking apps like Paytm. However there is still a lack of access given to the local entrepreneurs especiallywho are not as privileged as you and me. We went through many difficulties while adjusting to the online world so we can't even begin to imagine what they went through.
They are unfamiliar with the online market and since now the physical market is reduced, their business has suffered. They had mastered the trade of the local market however the online market requires different techniques. We need to help them understand the online art of the trade.
A common trend that has worked in the past year for businesses is - Stories. Businesses have understood that a personal touch by adding a story in their product doubles the effect.
I have talked about kindness in one of my previous posts. Humans have love in them. We all have more compassion and kindness in us than we let ourselves believe. It is the foundation of society and this world that has kept it going for so long. There are so many examples of stories of the local vendors that have moved us.
It does not need to be at a national level. It is not about judging thier success or talent but about giving them access so that they can earn their livelihood.
We, the story tellers, should to be the one to put them in the online world and then let the internet do the magic. We don’t need big donations or mass orders, we just need to put them on the same platform as others to give them an equal opportunity. These people are not charity cases, they can earn their own livelihood with their hardworking and dedication. We just need to give them a head start due to unequal access .
I have chosen local women business owner’s stories to tell. They all have different stories and different lives but all work whole heartedly and with passion. These types of stories are my favourite type of stories to read so shouldn’t I write about them too?
Keep checking this space, the Tynkrr Instagram, Trice Instagram, Trice facebook, etc for these stories. I will be sharing links as I do.
Do support them and check out their stores. Spread their stories and help it reach to people who would require their products. Also nominate a women entrepreneur in the comments below and tell me a little bit about them. I would love to hear from you.
Thank you for being A Part of My Life!
This is a great idea. Maybe there should one post every week in social media about local small vendors and shops with pictures. It would counter the distasteful trolls and poor language that us so common
